How rank is earned
  • Each discipline is a course: Chess, Deduction, Warfare, Politics and Economics.
  • Every course has three exams, taken in order: I · Foundations, II · Application and III · Mastery.
  • Each exam draws 12 questions at random from its own pool of 30, so no two sittings are the same. Score 9 out of 12 to pass. No answers are shown until you finish.
  • A failed exam reopens after 24 hours. Leaving an exam partway through counts as an attempt.
  • Pass Exam III to complete the course. Every course you complete raises you one rank and earns that rank’s certificate.
  • Pass the Mastermind Trials and every certificate carries the gold Seal of the Trials.
